One of the latest home fashion trends in flooring is the use of acid stained concrete. Acid stained concrete is a sytem of specialized coloring, patterning, texturing, and finishing that turns concrete into a unique floor. Acid stain concrete is a least expensive alternative to carpet, wood or tile. With acid stained you can create a unique design on your floors by using borders, stencils, multiple colors and saw cut designs. Polished Concrete - Surface Preparation: Concrete floors require a surface preparation prior to polishing to remove grease, dirt, carpet glue, coatings, or anything on top. Concrete floors that are unlevel, have extensive cracks, or are porous may not be good candidates for polishing. concrete must be polished to level 1800-3500 grit diamonds to be considered polished concrete.During the polishing process a sealer is applied to protect, hardened and densified the concrete. Polished concrete floors can be stained, dyed, or waxed to enhance it.
